Eboo Patel

As an American Muslim of Indian heritage, Eboo (EE-boo) Patel turned his vision of interreligious cooperation into a youth movement, Interfaith Youth Core (IFYC). IFYC’s campaign “Better Together” gets college students involved in faith discussions and community charity projects. His organization’s goal is to promote respect for religious diversity and “common action for the common good”.

Patel was a member of President Obama’s Advisory Council of the White House Office of Faith Based and Neighborhood Partnerships. He was also named one of America’s Best Leaders of 2009 by US News and World Report and is the author of three books: Sacred GroundActs of Faith, and Interfaith Leadership: A Primer.
