Felicia Pride: Writing and Hip-Hop’s Life Lessons

At Pride Collaborative, Felicia Pride uses storytelling and multimedia to help clients amplify their organizations’ messages and to create educational materials.

In 2012, Pride developed a media-based educational component for the PBS documentary “Slavery by Another Name” and is in the process of doing the same for the NPR radio show “State of the Re:Union.”

Pride is the author of seven books, including her essay collection, “The Message,” which explores life lessons found in hip-hop music. Her 2012 book, “To Create,” is a compilation of interviews with black storytellers and media personalities.

Pride is a Film Independent screenwriting fellow. She is also the founder of The Create Daily, a curated resource of opportunity for content creators that’s delivered daily via email.
